Things You Shouldn't Share
Your notes app, your politics, your favorite places
I haven’t used my notes app for the last two years, and I hate this feeling. The app was one of my most-used apps before I started doomscrolling about people either getting fit or getting rich or the country being turned into an absolute circus. It won’t be an understatement to say that I now live according to a vertical rectangle, and everything that I do is to fill it with something, even if it is for merely 24 hours. Sunsets, sunrises, football, cricket, temples, highways, mountains, food, my grandma, and the PS5, everything has been inside that said rectangle. This blog that I am writing will also be inside that rectangle. The thing is that I don’t hate that rectangle; I am just trying to get back to my favorite app, but something’s not letting me, and I know that the rectangle is a big part of that.
I hate people who post shitty, discouraging comments under the photos of overly sized women. I mean, I don’t know if “overly sized women” is the right way to describe them. The internet has been evolving, and so has the vocabulary, and sometimes it’s too hard to keep up with. But I also don’t like people, especially women, who also tell the same “overly sized woman” that it’s completely fine and she should just embrace herself the way she is under the pretext of self-love. I don’t know why, but I feel like those words come more out of pity than empathy. I mean, think of it like this: nobody who types "you're beautiful, queen" would ever want to walk a day in that body, and that gap is the tell.
People often ask me which political party I support, and I always have nothing to respond. I have been avoiding that question just like how a toddler avoids milk. If only I had one chance, I would ‘un-support’ everyone. But to be completely honest, I feel like the ruling party or the one in the opposition gives zero fucks about the middle class. The ones that actually pay taxes. Their so-called ‘yojanas’ are for the poor, which I don’t have any problem with. Their business schemes are for their favorites. And their million-dollar deals are for their own selves. I guess the only person we, as the next generation, should support is the one on the bank notes. That’s the only way we can get the fuck out of this hellhole.
What I believe is that I shouldn’t be the first person you should come to with your relationship problems. I mean, if you are an avid reader of this blog, you’d know why I said this. But there’s this one piece of relationship advice that I feel I should not gatekeep because I have never seen someone mention this anywhere. It goes like this: Never take your loved ones to your favorite places. This feels very rude at first but mind you, the place doesn’t remain the same. I can name many such places that I have ruined for myself. It’s also why Pune doesn’t feel like Pune anymore to me.

that thing about taking your loved ones to your favourite places - i feel you.
I really feel bad for the Pune thing. Call me once you're here next time. You'll probably have a good time here and 'may be' your thoughts about favourite places get restored.
